Diogenesister wondered, " ...what defines a religion? How about the fact they have changed the bible?"
You may be surprised to learn that:
1.) The bible has neen changed many times during its history, and there are different versions of the bible used by different churches.
2.) Not all religions recognized as such by the IRS use the bible as a basis for claiming they are a religion. Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists, and Shintoists are a few, there are many others. There are even (gasp!) Satanic churches! BOOGA BOOGA!
Stunning, isn't it?

Steve2 asked, "Did they get permission to change the lyrics, perform the song and record it for YouTube?"
Under US law, parodies are NOT a violation of copyrights.
What kind of world would it be if we had to get permission to mock or otherwise imitate something?

A HIGHER power? You mean like Timothy Leary and Terence McKenna?
Or were you making reference to the popular fictional character who, despite possessing "Higher Powers," has been unable to provide clear evidence of existence or identity? Who has been incapable of assuring that The Holy Writ is preserved unaltered through time?
No, I don't believe in that one. Do YOU? Really?

I am a proud Jehovah's Witness Defender
by Matthew Jefferson inmy name is matthew j and i have just ended my study with the jehovah's witnesses.
no, i did not stop studying because i believe the jehovah's witnesses are a 'cult', i left due to the minor beliefs that i hold that remain separate from the organization.
i called my elder who is still an amazing man and great counselor, affirming that i do not wish to continue my studying.

WHERE. WAS. THIS. PRESENTED?
WHEN?
It is FABULOUS! It proves the WTB&TS is decrepitating!
Let's hope they next work up a "translation" of Saturday Night Fever! Maybe "Saturday Field Service Fever"!
"Listen to the ground: there is preachin' all around
There is something goin' down and I can feel it
On the waves of the air, there's a meeting over there
It is somethin' we can share, we can feel it..."
They can re-do the rape scene into pedophilia; it would be VERY TASTEFUL - if you like that taste!

What Are Your Rights?
by Simon inrights seem to be everywhere nowadays.
say hello to someone in the wrong way and you've violated 101 of their human rights.
people imagine they have the right to all sorts of things - food, healthcare, housing, internet ... so many things are labelled basic rights and then you get onto their human rights - a favourite of the do-nothing bodies such as the un to declare.

You have the right to accelerate toward the center of the planet at a rate of approximately 32 feet per second per second OR 9.8 meters per second per second, your choice.
Pretty much everything else is determined by who has the more effective weapon.

Something I had never thought about re: the Borg's nonprofit status
by dubstepped ini am actually looking into the possibility of starting my own nonprofit for ex-jws with specific goals and i've learned more about the process.
i was interviewing someone for the podcast that is familiar with nonprofits and she told me something that i had never considered.
maybe everyone else has but i don't remember seeing anything about it here.

My apologies, I was beset by typos...
"...helped him spead it on" should have been "...helped him spend it on..."
AND
"It is a joy to exp
ose these..." was supposed to be "It is a joy to expose these..."
Sorry 'bout those errors.

Diogenesister, is this "telltale" on YouTube the same grifter who came on here a few years ago and announced similar plans, along with plans to produce a film? If memory serves, the film - or maybe his alter-ego - was "losing my religion."
His own mother wouldn't give him money! As a test, I DID give him some $$,$$$ and in a flash he traveled north and south, up to Europe, down to Africa, up to Europe, bought cameras, ate nice dinners, etc. Soon the money was gone and along with it the "ass-istants" who helped him spead it on cameras and software. And a lawyer, who was supposed to help get a completion bond for the film project.
Too bad he never got the completion bond - if he had he might have been able to wring some money out of an insurance company. If you do a search here you'll be able to docuent "The Grifter Chronicles."
It is a joy to exp
ose these fnckin' frauds for what they are - opportunists and liars!

Reflecting On Death
by Charles Gillette inreflecting on death.
i can't remember, maybe steve jobs before he died.i thought i would share it with you and see what you think about it, and i'm quoting i think from his book.. "i'm about fifty-fifty on believing in god.
for most of my life, i've felt that there must be more to our own existence than meets the eye.. i might be overestimating the odds 50/50 out of a desire to believe in an afterlife.

Westiebilly11, isn't it also true that you brought your children into this world so they could experience LIFE?
You are worrying about what will happen when the music stops; you should be enjoying the dance we're all dancing.
